A classic herb liqueur that has kept its secret

Unicum is the most popular Hungarian brand, which we could be justifiably proud of. The imperial drink has Franz Joseph himself to thank for its name. It was first made by his Imperial Physician as a digestive. Ever since then it has been a symbol of steady quality in Hungary and also in the rest of the world.

This traditional herb liqueur, which has kept its secret and distinctive taste for several generations, is made from a blend of more than 40 carefully chosen herbs and spices. It is based on a family recipe, using the same old processes, but the most modern technology. Its taste, however, develops to its fullest in the very same legendary place, in the oak barrels in the cellars of the factory in Soroksári Road.

Respecting the iconic bottle shape and commemorating the family’s ascendants, the packaging of Unicum was renewed in 2019 by building on the past, but in a more modern, 21st-century form.
