Nearly 17 years after Martin Miller’s Gin was first launched, 9 Moons came into fruition as a result of some experimental cocktail creations by an adventurous group of mixologists in New York. They had put Martin Miller’s Gin into mini barrels producing stunning results. We then experimented further taking barrels of French oak to the cold, dry Icelandic climate and leaving our very special 9 Moons blend inside for varying periods. We ultimately found that an ageing of 9 months in these conditions produced the very best Aged Gin experience.
The intensity of the citrus profile of Martin Miller’s Gin is boosted by the oak from finest French oak barrels, heavily toasted. .
Heavy toasting provides sweetness, as well as a creamy mouthfeel.
Contact with the oak adds a slight vanilla and coconut sweetness, which in turn enhances the gin botanicals that lie behind the essential juniper.
Citrus notes and some light oak in the finish are balanced thanks to the exceptional smoothness of the pure Icelandic spring water.
