Achaval Ferrer has a single passion: making world-class Argentine terroir red wines. The winery produces the most critically acclaimed Malbecs from Mendoza, Argentina, sourced from single vineyards with low-yielding, old vines that have not been grafted.
In producing the wines, Achaval Ferrer focuses on the smallest intervention necessary between the soil and the finished wine, eschewing a variety of traditional, conventional processes to increase yields. Old vines are used, with an average age of over 90 years which produce wines that are much darker in color, have a higher intensity of flavor and a much better aging potential. Old vines are not only better balanced, they also provide a more stable quality from vintage to vintage.
