Origin of viticulture
Achaval Ferrer has a single passion: making world-class Argentine terroir red wines. The winery produces the most critically acclaimed Malbecs from Mendoza, Argentina, sourced from single vineyards with low-yielding, old vines that have not been grafted.
In producing the wines, Achaval Ferrer focuses on the smallest intervention necessary between the soil and the finished wine, eschewing a variety of traditional, conventional processes to increase yields. Old vines are used, with an average age of over 90 years which produce wines that are much darker in color, have a higher intensity of flavor and a much better aging potential. Old vines are not only better balanced, they also provide a more stable quality from vintage to vintage.
Achaval Ferrer wines are simply unique, beautifully structured and loved by consumers. Not for nothing are they some of the top rated wines in Argentina and the world!
