Cenote is an ultra-premium tequila made from 100% blue Weber agave, inspired by the beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula and the spectacular underground water systems unique to this geographic region. The Mayans revered this underground water system because they were a source of water in dry times. Thus, they gave them the name Cenote – which means “sacred well.”
They believed that they were the window to the underworld where gods lived, including the rain god Chaac. Cenote Tequila is the brainchild of Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes. He created a complex flavor profile that balances fragrant, cooked agave with delicate wood notes.
Crystal clear in color, with an elegant toasted spice finish, Cenote Cristalino comes from Anejo spirit, aged over a year in Amberican Oak casks, and passed through an activated carbon filter. This proprietary process extracts the amber hue and preserves the beautiful aromas of the aged spirit. The final result is a mellow, matured Anejo tequila, brilliant in clarity, earning the title Cristalino.
